The Chatham Minor Baseball Association boast an incredible number of individuals and teams who have excelled at playing, coaching, umpiring or in a volunteer capacity through the years.
The City of Chatham is well known across the Province of Ontario for:
- being the home of the only Canadian to be inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, New York (Fergie Jenkins)
- being home to one of the most experienced General Managers in the history of the American League (Doug Melvin)
- being home to three inductees into the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame (Fergie Jenkins, Doug Melvin, Ron Stead)
- having many other players graduate to the professional ranks (Bill Atkinson, Ed Myers, Dave Corrente, Perry Mader)
- boasting one the most well rounded baseball complexes (Fergie Jenkins Field at Rotary Park)
- having an incredible number of Ontario Championship teams (over 60)
- having two long serving members serve as Mayor of the City of Chatham (Archie Stirling, Doug Allin)
- being the home of the Philadelphia Phillies scout who signed a young flame throwing Ferguson Jenkins in 1962 (Gene Dziadura)
- being home to "Mr. Baseball" who served as President of the Ontario Baseball Association and was made an honorary life time member of the OBA (Archie Stirling)
- being home to only man to be a founder of CMBA and President of both the Ontario Baseball Association and the Western Counties Baseball Association (Joe Zimmer)
- being home to a man who served CMBA for over 25 years including stints as President, Treasurer, Secretary and Coach (Casey Maynard)
- being home to a man who convened the Bantam House League for over 30 years at Stirling Park (Ross Day)
