C-K Glory Days Baseball (Over 35)
About Glory Days
The CKGDBL is for those individuals looking to have fun, get some exercise and play the great game of baseball at a first rate facility.
The main objective is to remain non-competitive and recreational. It is also a great way to meet new players and develop relationships with people within your league.
The league is NOT for those looking to "make it to the show" or hoping for Major league scouts to be there to watch. Do not take this too serious.
For those looking to join our league, here is a little of what can be expected in our "over 35" mens baseball league:
1) Games are played once per week. Generally on Tuesday or Wednesday evenings.
2) Teams must carry a minimum of 14 players per team to allow for vacations, etc in the summer.
3) Unlimited field substitutions.
4) Games are seven innings. However, no new inning will start after 1 hour 45 minutes.
5) Pitchers can only pitch a MAXIMUM of 9 outs per game.
6) Only wood (or wood composite) bats are permitted to be used.
7) Steel or plastic cleats are both permitted.
8) All players must wear baseball pants.
9) NEW Players are 'drafted' to new teams each July.
10) The CKGDBL does not permit 'team' entries. A draft will occur each year as this has been found to be the most effective method of creating parity in the league.
